Born in the town of Neustadt at the Wine Route, I had the chance to grow up in this unique wine region. Despite living in France and California for several years my passion for the Palatinate is unbroken. When I was living abroad I had a hard time describing the beauty and the traditions of the Palatinate. I had to realize that the only well exported German tradition is a “beer-drinking Bavarian” and German car brands. Even wine lovers from France had difficulties spotting the Palatinate on a map whereas many were familiar with other wine regions in Germany such as the Mosel, Württemberg or Rheinhessen.
My blog has the goal of educating the English-speaking world about the Palatinate. Visitors should obtain insights into the Palatine culture and traditions written by a local. As wine is playing a central role in daily life, this blog sets a strong emphasis on the Palatinate wine region. Regular news articles will allow the reader to follow local events and become informed about the upcoming wine harvest.
This blog is a humble beginning to transform an idea into reality. I am happy to welcome any feedback or ideas how to improve this blog and the information displayed.
